TEACHING
I started working with Dr. Kimball in my early twenties. Throughout our lessons, we identified my weaknesses, strengths and set new goals to achieve. The confidence I gained during our lessons has been invaluable in my journey as a singer. Our lessons were fine tuned to my goals and what I wanted to achieve as a singer. I accomplished many of those goals under her guidance. Not only that, but she has given me a wealth of knowledge to continue achieving on my own. I am forever grateful for Dr. Kimball.

MY GOALS FOR YOUR VOICE
With regard to my ideal voice; I believe that relaxation is paramount to a healthy instrument. Extrinsic tension in the neck, shoulders, tongue, and jaw should be avoided as much as possible. A balanced head and chest voice, or chest and falsetto, will allow for the healthiest tonal color options to meet the demands of a popular sound.
I prefer a belt mix to a hard belt. I define a healthy mix as a heavy Thyroarytenoid (TA) mix with a blend of Cricothyroid (CT) to maintain the best adduction for that clear intense sound. A pure TA sound can be damaging, and my primary goal is to help the student avoid nodules or any other vocal injury. In addition, I believe in teaching them all of the other sounds their voices can use to communicate. For the performing professional, vocal choices in timbre are imperative to emotional communication and resilience. It is my goal to give my students the technical tools to create the voices they have always wanted.
